Kid’s Life
Nursery
Childcare is provided during worship service for infants and toddlers from newborns to 36 months old. This is a time for parents to be able to enjoy the church service without the joyful interruption of their children. The nursery staff is made up of church members who offer abundant hugs and kisses for the children that need them and supervised play time which can also include stories & songs. We usually provide a snack of cheerios, pretzels or gold fish as well. All we ask of you is that you drop and go without hesitation and let us care for your child. If a child has persistent unhappiness, we will notify you on the pager you will receive at sign-in. We are always looking for loving & qualified volunteers. If you’d like to be put on the nursery schedule rotation, please contact Sheila Smith or the church office.
Bible Hour
Bible Hour is designed for children age 3 through 2nd grade and is also available during the time of worship. Children are dismissed before the sermon and led back to the puppet room where they are taught valuable Bible lessons in a fun & interactive environment that helps them learn. Parents are welcome to sit in until their child feels comfortable or return to auditorium to hear the message.
Bible Classes
We offer every child a place to learn about God. Starting at newborn all the way to adults, Davis Park has a class for you. All classes are about 45 minutes on Sunday mornings and an hour on Wednesday evenings.
Cradle Roll (newborn to 24 months) – This class is an introduction to the concept of God and His creation. The entire period is usually devoted to songs about creation, families, animals and you. The teacher sings and uses many objects to keep the infant’s attention. It’s amazing what a child can learn at such a young age.
2’s and 3’s – This class is often a big transition class where the 2 yr. olds move up from cradle roll. The children learn to sit during story time and do crafts all relating to God and His works.
4’s & 5’s – This class is helping prepare our children for Kindergarten while focusing on memorization of scripture and the books of the Bible. Of course, stories & crafts are still a large part of the classroom time.
Kindergarten & 1st Grade / 2nd & 3rd Grade / 4th & 5th Grade – The remainder of our children’s Bible classes continue to develop and grow with the children’s skills and maturity. Topics focus on different aspects of God and the Bible, but may vary according to teachers.
VBA (Vacation Bible Adventure)
This is a fun-filled week of evening activities during the summer centered around a specific theme for children aged 2 through Jr. High. Crafts, skits, snacks, songs & stories create a fast-paced, exciting atmosphere that transports the children into the center of the activities while teaching them about the truths of the Bible.
